Potty, oops, potty, potty

Digging
Tyler's face...tired of all the 'potty breaks'

Really likes socks for gloves...not a clue where he got this...

Drew has been rocking today with the potty business! We did have one 'oops' today at the gym (but what can you expect). And does it really count if I don't have to change him??? All in all it's been a great day...we did a trip to the Y, library, grocery store, Chickfila, and much time outside in the backyard ALL IN UNDERWEAR.

First day on potty training (take 2-since I started a few months back & stopped) Drew gets an A! Here's to hoping for many A's and not many F's!

Let it begin...

Today marks a new day...I have been lazy about potty training Drew and this morning I got a little more serious. So far so good (though on trips out of the house I threw the diaper back on). Tomorrow I will start the 100%, all the time underwear thing. And so begins the long journey of accidents.

For the love of a candy cane!

Most of you know that I am an ultra picky eater...and this past year I have been working on expanding my eating habits. Most my life I have not eaten fish, tomatoes, most veggies and since I have had to 'force' them on my kids I have followed in tow. Last January, Tyler's eating had gotten so bad (he was 2 and half) that all he would eat was milk and cheerios. He had phased everything else out...so after a 10 day lock down, in which he went to bed 3 times without eating anything for 2 of 3 meals we have come a looooong way. Though every meal is still a challenge, tonight we went beyond the everyday broccoli, carrots, peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, corn, etc to the hard core stuff! SPINACH! And it was organic spinach! Drew was crying yucky (and he is my eater) and after one bit...was saying 'yummy, yummy for my tummy!' And Tyler took it down with the promise that if he ate all his meal he would get a candy cane.
After a year of struggling...I am so proud of both of them!!
For those of you wondering...I did take ONE bite. BJ took one and thought it too disgusting for another.

The Reason for the Season

"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins." Matthew 1:21

"Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, God with us." Matthew 1:23

Merry Christmas!

Tonight...

We invited the Watsons over after church for our traditional 'potatoe and knipfla' (an authentic German dish) and a glass of Silver Oak. The kids exchanged their gifts and then the boys went for the ones under the tree. They had a great time with the 'Star Wars light sabers' (which only broke one ornament). However, anything to do with their new bikes is an absolute hit! Mimi and Papa gave the boys real trek helmets and they didn't want to take them off.

And since, the dogs are soooo neglected, they got a bath and a hug.

Honeyman Christmas 3

Sea World

Screaming 'Shamu'

The third and last day, we headed to SeaWorld. I learned if it has to do with balls and animals the boys are game. We arrived and headed straight to the Shamu show. Saying they loved it is an understatement. However, the adults enjoyed it too. The show started with the miracle of Jesus and moved into sharing the gospel mixed throughout with traditional Christmas carols. We were pleasantly surprised!

After a stop at the dolphin exhibit, we landed in the shark tank where Tyler had to go potty. For us, that is about a 2 second warning...it was time to get creative. What to do...when you don't know where a potty is and assume it's miles away! Lala had a water bottle...and Tyler is a 3 year old boy...and it's very very very dark in the fish tank. We found the back wall after running into it and dropped pants. Meanwhile, an unsuspecting woman walks right by us. She never saw us and continued on her way. Tightening the lid quickly, we got up and found a trash can. Things you thought you would never do...like pee in the fish tank.
Till next year...

Honeyman Christmas 2

They liked the horns

Scary...
Loved the deer

The next day we headed over to the Natural Bridge Wildlife Park. This was awesome...a bit like Jurassic Park, because you drive through the wildlife preserve with food and they come up to your car. Tyler was in the lead car with Jebo feeding animals and Drew was in daddy's lap or Aunt Janine's. The deer and other animals seemed harmless, but there was one animal that 'freaked' us all out. It's interesting to find out what you are afraid of as an adult. The OSTRICH is one freaky looking dude. It's got a long, long neck as you know and not afraid to stick it in the car for food!!

Back at the resort, the boys played the 'big bad wolf' with Aunt Janine, decorated a cupcake train with Lala, and spent time with Gigi. That evening we celebrated Bj's 31st birthday! Happy Birthday honey, I love you.

Papa H & Drew

Every year we take a Christmas trip with the Honeymans. Lala and Papa H found a condo in New Braunfels, TX outside San Antonio. The first day was covered with a heavy fog, but that didn't slow down the boys or Lala and Papa H. They brought the fun with Christmas books, instruments, tattoos, and colorful snowflakes.

Tyler befriended the tail-less cat, while Drew wanted to play with whatever ball was in site. The boys love the instruments so Papa H taught Drew how to strum the guitar...and Drew taught us how to play without hands.

Candyland at a friends...

Sitting on Santa
Cheese tower

Table decor

Popcorn bar

Juggler
Tonight we went to a candyland party like no other! They know how to throw a Christmas party...a private Santa, all the stuff above, plus a balloon cartoonist, a giant 'real' Frosty the Snowman, crafts and tons of food and fun! It's our second year to go and the boys absolutely love it. How could they not??
