Trick or Treat!

A Playgroup Halloween Pottery party,
A trip to Uncle Kyle's office for candy and pizza,
More sugar from Lala and Papa H's cookie bouquet (which they loved),
Carving pumpkins with daddy,
Going to Mimi and Papa's fall festival at church,
Trick or treating through the neighborhood.
Halloween, now complete!

I asked Drew tonight in bed how his day was and he said 'it was awesome, mommy!'
And Tyler told me that I was to be a 'princess next year, and daddy was to be a baseball player.'

Tyler's collar bone is doing much better. He is having to return in mid November for an X-Ray. They will also be checking for bone density since this is his second break. However, we are not expecting to learn anything other than 'he is a rough and tumbling 3 year old boy.' Please continue to pray for his complete healing.
Drew is one serious painter and wants to paint everyday (picture taken last week). Gratefully, he has managed to remain on the paper or his own chest. Though, last summer I painted most of the house walls with a washable, durable paint. So I am ready for him!

Riding Pumpkins!

Drew riding his pumpkin!

Tyler taking a break!

It's the absolute best time of year to live in Houston, weather wise. So yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch with our friends and had a great time. They climbed, rode, and moved pumpkins all around the yard. Thanks to Amber and Jenni for making it happen.

SUPER HEROS

Drew mooing

Tyler

Batman & Robin

Tonight the boys revisited last year's Halloween costumes for the Skipper's SUPERHERO night at Chickfila. Even though the power was out for the first hour, they had a great time sliding and balloon fighting.

If you are wondering, the sling did not fit the super hero look. Therefore, it was temporaily retired for the event.

We had a wonderful time with our friends when we went to see Thomas the Train. It was a hit!

Sad

Tyler is one tough dude. I can only imagine how painful a broken collar bone is. He is taking good care of himself, but it's hard to watch. Every time I take off his sling, he tells me 'careful mommy. It's hurts.' Here's a shot of his shoulder. You can see the darkened area of his collar bone and how it droops down or seems to hang. Not to mention the lack of visual bone showing.

Easy come, easy go!

Tyler's soccer shoes.
Oh, the pain, mommy!

Tonight was suppose to be Tyler's first soccer practice and all week he has been excited (mommy probably more). Last weekend, we went to the Y fields and ran around having a great time. Drew was pumped and telling us he wanted to go to Tyler's games. Plans change and last night, Tyler fell out of bed at midnight. A loud thump and a blood curdling cry, and then he went back to bed. Today, after toughing it out through BSF and school, I took him into see the doctor. They tested his wrist, hand and elbow. We almost made it out of the office, when the doctor decided to test his shoulder. Bingo! It was his collar bone. Poor guy. So, he is bummed and soccer will have to wait. Drew all the meanwhile, keeps singing 'ring around the rosie' all around his brother as he sits nursing his broken bone. This would be the annoyed expression as Tyler is watching Drew. From black eyes to slings, I am definitely raising boys! Thank God that they heal quickly.

Come, follow me!

'Come, follow...

me...

Jesus said,

and I will make you fishers of

men.'

Ta da!

One of the best, most precious moments, is watching your children learn about God's love. Tyler and Drew have learned their first bible verse and they have hand motions to go with. I have captured a few on camera.
'Come follow me, Jesus said, and I will make you fishers of men.' Matt. 4:29.

Movie Night

We had our first sleepover tonight with the Watson girls. Getting everyone to sleep was quite the callenge, but the hit of the evening was watching Peter Pan! They have each picked a character from the movie to be for Halloween. As their costume came on screen, you could hear them screaming and clapping through the house 'that's me. That's Wendy (or Tinkerbell, or Peter Pan, or Captian Hook).'

Not quite a knockout!

The flash on the camera mutes it, but, YES that would be a shiner on Drew's eye. The story is, that I was carefully watching the older Watson girls and my boys yesterday for a couple of hours. The four disappeared briefly as I cleaned up the afternoon snack, and I heard a loud thump from Tyler's room. A moment of tears, and then a return to 'no more monkeys jumping on the bed.' So, it goes that all kids were jumping on Tyler's bed and Drew took a tumbling and kept on kicking!

Drew in a big sand pit!

My folks celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, by taking the family to Destin for a reunion. It was a special time for all 11 grandchildren to bond. And a time of remembrance for me and my siblings. It's a unique thing to spend 5 days together and have complete and perfect harmony. We had an amazing time.
Tyler told his teacher today that he 'went far da.' Meaning he 'went to Flordia.'
